The original  Eau de Cologne created by Giovanni Maria Farina (1685-1766) became the favorite perfume of a few celebrities (Louis XV, XVI, Napoleon). Today, it is still produced by the eighth generation of his descendants in Cologne.

An Italian perfumer, Jean Marie Farina began to produce in 1708 an “admirable water”. This fresh and lightly scented water collected an innovative blend of essential oils, opposed to previously known essences (cinnamon, sandalwood, musk).

This historic perfume offers a magical freshness, flowery and sparkling. Even today, traditional Cologne waters are again in high demand.

The Emperor Napoleon I’s Eau de Cologne in Saint Helena is the only olfactory memory that can be conserved from him. It is said, that Napoleon consumed up to 43 liters of this Eau de Cologne per month!

The great success in France can be attributed to the officers of the French army who, after the War of Polish Succession, popularized the perfume under the name of Eau de Cologne.
